The "Chapeau" which is called the red chapeau, is a mark of ecclesiastical dignity, especially that of cardinals.
It is worn over the shield by way of crest, as mitres and coronets are.
In heraldry, supporters are figures usually placed on either side of the shield in this case the cloak.
Figuratively, a cloak may be anything that disguises or conceals something, they keep a person hidden and conceal a weapon.
The phrase cloak and dagger has come to refer to situations involving intrigue, secrecy, or mystery.
The blazon or blason, meaning "shield" describing the field (background), party per saltire (diagonally both ways)
The Gold meaning Generosity and elevation of the mind.
The Black (Sable) Constancy, meaning one that does not contain a contradiction.
The saltire in the form of a diagonal cross represents the Protokletos, or the First-called, "manhood, valour".
The two bands which form the soul of the world cross each other like the letter X.
5 Annulets - The Five rings of fidelity "the quality of being faithful or loyal", collectively called the Five Fingers of the Hand.
The Five rings also represent the friendship networks, where the "inner circle" may describe the closest of friends or family.
